For over two thousand years, Western thought has been shaped by the tension between Plato’s abstract rationalism and Aristotle’s empirical substance ontology. Their twenty‑year collaboration at the Athenian Academy produced the foundational divide between Forms and Substances, between the eternal and the observable, between the ideal blueprint and the physical world.
